A Great New Release of Mumble-Ruby-Pluginbot – „Winter melon punch“ 0.10.0

Mumble-Ruby-Pluginbot is a versatile bot with many plugins which can for example download music from Youtube or other music/video platforms and much, much more.

It can be controlled via text commands within your Mumble client.

Today a great new version of Mumble-Ruby-Pluginbot named „Winter melon punch“ (Version 0.10.0) was released with many new features, bug fixes, new commands, new plugins and translations.

Edit your Mumble Servers welcome message with mice and a channel as the editor

In this article I already described how to use Mice to manage your Mumble-Server.

Thats what I use instead of an admin interface.

But this is very unhandy if you want to change the welcome message (internally called welcometext) of your server because pasting much HTML code into an interactive Python shell does not work well.

A Docker Container for the Mumble-Ruby-Pluginbot

Mumble-Ruby-Pluginbot is a Mumble-Ruby based, extensible bot which can play audio, be fed by different sources like Youtube, Soundcloud, Internet radio and it can be completely controlled via text messages within your Mumble client.

I created my first Dockerfile and it builds such a Mumble-Ruby-Pluginbot or many of them if you want :)

Forwarder Module for Mumble Moderator forwards user messages to all linked channels…

A great feature of Mumble is the ability to link channels together so that users can hear each other while sitting in different channels.

This can be used for some cool setups, for example for Low Bandwidth channels, see here.

The main problem with linked channels is that when you want to send text messages, they are not forwarded by the server. So you need to send the same message to evey linked channel.
