Finally the ability of the clock/calendar widget to display your PIM events came back in the latest update of KDE/Plasma :)

You need at least the following versions:

  • „KDE Plasma“ >=5.7.4
  • „KDE Frameworks“ >=5.25.0

You can check this when you start „kinfocenter“.

To be able to see your events you must enable the PIM events plugin for your widget.

Right click on the clock/calendar widget and click on „Digital Clock Settings“:

kde_plasma_display_events_in_calendar_clock__configure

Then open the „Calendar“ area and enable „PIM Events Plugin“.

kde_plasma_display_events_in_calendar_clock__enable_PIM_events_plugin

Now change to „PIM Events Plugin“…

kde_plasma_display_events_in_calendar_clock__PIM_events_plugin

… and enable all the calenders you want to be displayed in your widget.

kde_plasma_display_events_in_calendar_clock__PIM_events_plugin__selected

Done :)

And this is how it looks like:
